Those who own Lantana real estate will be the first to tell you that the area is an incredibly dog-friendly community. There are a number of parks, restaurants, and attractions in Lantana, Flower Mound, and the surrounding cities that residents can enjoy alongside their furry friends. Here are some ideas for anyone looking to enjoy an afternoon or evening out with their dog by their side.

Enzo’s Pizza

Enzo’s Pizza serves delicious pizzas, Buffalo wings, calzones, and hot and cold subs. Their large outdoor patio is dog-friendly, and you can enjoy a tasty meal while your canine companion cools off with a fresh bowl of water provided by the restaurant. One thing to note is that you can’t bring your dog inside with you to order, so be sure to call ahead or have a friend head to the counter. Enzo’s is open seven days a week from 11 am until 10 pm.

Wiggly Field

Wiggly Field Dog Park is a staple for residents with dogs. Located in nearby Denton, this beloved community space includes separate fenced-in runs where dogs can play and explore off-leash. Every furry friend has a place here, as the park features play areas suited for large, small, and shy dogs. Drinking fountains for both owners and their pets are available on-site. The park’s lack of restrooms is one thing to consider, though. Wiggly Field Dog Park is closed on Wednesdays for maintenance and mowing.

The Tavern at Lakeside

The Tavern at Lakeside is a delicious restaurant and bar located in Flower Mound. They have tremendous happy hour specials from 2 pm to 6 pm on weekdays that include discounts on all bar drinks along with appetizers like brisket sliders and loaded nachos. Perhaps one of the best features of this well-loved restaurant is its dog-friendly patio, where pups and their owners can relax with delicious food — and maybe even a treat. The Tavern at Lakeside is open seven days a week.

Freedom Dog Park

Freedom Dog Park stretches across eight acres, providing dogs with plenty of open space to explore off-leash. Multiple spaces allow larger dogs to free roam while playing separately from smaller or timid pets. Both courses include various agility activities that promote exploration and adventure. Nearby, you’ll find a natural wooded section with plenty of shade for owners and their dogs. Additional amenities include water fountains, two shaded pavilions, and a wash-out area. The park is closed on Thursdays for maintenance.

Urbano Enchilada

Urbano Enchilada serves delicious Mexican dishes packed with flavor in Flower Mound. Their menu includes popular choices like bacon-wrapped jalapenos, ahi tuna salad, and slow-cooked carnitas. Their large outdoor patio is perfect for both dogs and humans. Wash down your meal with an award-winning margarita while your dog enjoys a fresh bowl of water provided by the restaurant’s service staff. Urbano Enchilada opens daily at 11 am. Visit their website in advance to reserve your table.

Hound Mound Dog Park

Hound Mound Dog Park is Flower Mound’s five-acre dog park located on the eastern edge of Heritage Park. Their fenced-in turf areas include pet waste stations, water fountains, seating areas, and video-monitored parking spaces. They have multiple fenced-in locales to keep small and large dogs separate while they play. Owners should abide by all rules and regulations, which includes a no-food policy. The park is closed on Wednesdays for maintenance but is otherwise open from 7 am until 9 pm.

Murrell Park

Located on the northern edge of Lake Grapevine, Murrell Park overlooks the lake and is a popular day-use area and campground for residents. Visitors can access the park for free or reserve a campsite for a small fee. The park has several biking trails in addition to fishing areas and a boat ramp. North Shore Trail is one of the best hiking routes in Murrell Park, running for nearly ten miles. If you’re looking for a place where you and your furry friend can both stretch your legs and get some exercise, you’ll love spending the day at Murrell Park.

Lewisville Lake Park

Lewisville Lake Park sits along Lake Lewisville’s shoreline near I-35 East. The park covers over 650 acres and includes multiple boat ramps, courtesy docks, and a swimming beach. The park is home to multiple pavilions and athletic facilities, which can be reserved for event use.

The park is open year-round, seven days a week. Daily admission fees start at $10 per vehicle, and annual passes are also available. With its endless amenities and miles of natural spaces, Lewisville Lake Park is the perfect spot for dog lovers to create unforgettable memories with their canine friends.
